Design Tool Settings (Slab / Roof etc)

This one has me stumped...

I'm on v18 and trying to change some basic settings for slab and roof tools (mainly changing floor plan display to show "Home and One storey down")
Long story short, I go through the settings dialogue box, make all my changes, click OK and nothing updates.
Then go back into the dialogue box and the changes have defaulted back to the way they were.
All layers are unlocked, grouping is off.

Please help!!

just check if the element isnt locked. you can lock layers and elements

Yep that was the first thing i tried, all elements are unlocked / ungrouped.
I can edit the height of the slab / roof but every other change defaults to previous settings.

Did you look for updates?

I don't know what OS do your computer mount but there was a similar problem by updating to El Capitan on Mac OSx:
