Write an Archicad Review

Hi guys,

I have found a review site containing reviews of business software. It looks like a good site to me. This is ArchiCAD's page:

It currently has 14 reviews of ArchiCAD so I think it could use more to have reviews from a more diverse group of users.
If you feel like you would like to make your voice heard, you can head over there and write a review of ArchiCAD. Other people might find it useful in the future.
You can sign up with your LinkedIn profile which kind of enforces the fact that this site has reviews written by professionals using those programs.

I would love to write a review of ArchiCAD there, but working for Graphisoft, I can't.

I've done my best already some time ago 😉

Currently, there are about 14 ArchiCAD reviews and 54 for Revit. Be honest and as complete as possible.

The G2 Crowd site is quite professional and they sometimes have incentives (Amazon vouchers, contests) to motivate people to do reviews, without interfering with the actual review content.

Just an update: The original post was in January 2015, at which point ARCHICAD only had 15 reviews. Today it has 37 reviews which is much better.
I think there is still room for more reviews. The more there are the better the whole ARCHICAD community is represented. Also, there are still not enough reviews for all fields to show scores:

So it is still a good time to write a review of ARCHICAD, let us help those interested in the program have good accurate info to base their decisions on.

This is the current state of the BIM landscape based on user-reviews of BIM applications (see attached image).
ARCHICAD has been coming up steadily as more reviews got written, and now it is slightly in the Leaders quadrant as its market presence score also keeps improving with more reviews (earlier it was about 10 points less).
Interestingly, the more reviews, the lower Revit's satisfaction score is, a year ago it was about 10 points more.

So I can only keep encouraging people to write a review of ARCHICAD.

Do you think this will help Archicad to grow? I mean it looks like a serious site but nobody can relate to it. I think Graphisoft has to overthink their marketing and investment strategy. it feels more and more that Autodesk is moving far ahead. Even BIG is searching for Revit BIM Manager.

G2Crowd is a site that collects peer reviews from professionals on various applications, including BIM applications (you have to register with your LinkedIn account to give a review). As a result of the many reviews ARCHICAD is now in the market Leader segment of the BIM landscape. I don't see how that is not a good thing.
"Nobody can related to it" - that is a very nice piece of generalization.
Anyway, this topic will stay here. I think helping people make more informed decisions about ARCHICAD will always be helpful.

It is funny how sKetchup and autocard are leading the BIM way. Even if you compare them side by side, using the available feature I still don't see how it's possible to review a modelling and respectively drawing tool in this category.

Yes, they include in the BIM category the AEC industry's most common CAD software as well.

I just checked, and sadly ArchiCAD has been pushed to near the bottom of the 'top' quadrant by Revit fanboy reviews

Paul, ARCHICAD was never in the middle or top of the top right quadrant, it was mostly in the lower right quadrant.
So it is actually coming up continually in terms of Market Presence.

Oh well. I have just done my bit there anyway!

Personally convinced that if something like the Unity engine crossed with Lumion was integrated by default, ArchiCAD would utterly destroy the competition.

Architects are intrinsically very visual people, so built in capacity for seemingly effortless and instant but stunningly attractive looking visualisation outcomes will utterly convince the practice decision makers where it counts most - emotionally.

ArchiCAD could offer a creative environment they WANT to occupy.

Right now anyone who is not a user themselves who is comparing the ArchiCAD vs Revit Vs SketchUp or whatever have mostly dry verbal specifications and geeky user descriptions to go on - but as they say, an image is worth a thousand words, and a compelling live and dynamically editable 3D experience is probably worth ten thousand it will cut right through any fog of words.

Which decision will be easily justified to others later by the better than Revit technical capability.
