Disappearing Labels

I have a staff member irate because she spent a good amount of time labeling the ceiling heights, and after publishing to PDF, the labels have disappeared (she's accusing a teammate of sabotaging the model).

Anyway, a BO Slab Elevation Label was created, and associated with the ceilings (Roofs) via the Label Tool. Once the labels had disappeared, the Roof Tool dialogs showed the "Label Roof" box unchecked.

Has anyone else experienced this? Do you think "bug" or "user error"???

Sadly labels are somewhat unpredictable. Sometimes when editing the element the label will "drop off"

I've seen that happening a lot in AC10 but I have not been able to pin down when it happens. It seems to be during Send & Receive.
