topic Type Properties in Modeling

<T>In ARCHICAD you can define the Type of a wall via its composite structure or via a Complex Profile. However, these attributes don't contain additional meta-data. There is no way to link Manufacturer, brand name etc... at this level.

In ARCHICAD 20 you can define a variety of Custom Properties which can be used by objects (e.g custom Wall Properties). The values of these properties, however, are instance-based: each individual wall contains its own value of these attribute values. What is the best approach to prepare manufacturer specific Wall Types? I'm now configuring Building Materials (with some limited metadata), Surfaces, Composites. But I still have to attach additional data to the walls themselves. Should I share these as Favourites?</T>

The quickest way I can think of is using schedules where you split out the building materials along with the property you want to fill with info, thus being able to add info to all the differtent composites for the individual layers.
