Short click, long click, it makes no difference to me.
Sometimes it sticks and sometimes it doesn't.

Click, drag and keep it moving before letting go of the mouse seems to work - but not all the time.

I can't work out if it is a timing thing or the direction dragged or maybe a combination of both that affects it.

I just know the more I play with it trying to sort it out the more frustrating it gets.

<T>When i move an orange guide line occasionally it does stick to the cursor so that i can release the mouse button & still drag the guide line, but i cannot work out how to it when i want to do it.
Does anybody know how to this?</T>

Sometimes it sticks when you let go of the mouse button and sometimes it doesn't.
I can't work out a reliable method to make it stick.
Sometimes it is better when the tracker is turned off - sometimes not.
It also seems to depend on the direction it is first dragged - but this is not consistent either.
Also sometimes hovering over the orange dot for a second before dragging works - but then sometimes it doesn't either.
I've just learned not to let go of the mouse till I get to the spot I want.
From my investigations, the behaviour is determined by the length of the click on the guideline. If it is a short click (< .5 second?), then the guideline will stick to the mouse. If it is a longer click, it won't.

If it is a new guideline, just clicking on the outside tab, or a short click and drag, will stick the guide to the mouse. A long click and drag will not.

If it is an existing guide, just a click will do nothing, but a short click and drag and it will stick. A long click and drag and it won't.

Actually if you grab the orange spot, drag it and run it around in small circles a few times before letting go while still moving the mouse in circles seems to grab it more often than not.
Still not 100% successful.
This makes me think it has something to do with the direction of the drag before the release of the mouse button.

I give up.
I just drag and let go where I want it.
If it sticks I click again to release.
Hi.
The PDF reference guide is not entirely clear, but:
For new guide lines: a *click* on the tab will stick the guide line to the cursor. *Click-and-drag* will not. You'll need to drag to the desired position before releasing the mouse button.

For existing guide lines: to drag/offset guide lines, *click-and-drag* the orange handle. A *click* or *long-press* will not stick it to the mouse (although the manual does not say this).

A sticking guide line after a long press or long-press-and-drag might be related to accessibility system settings or standard mouse click lock settings.

Best regards.
