Not really a problem,.... but you have to aware of the offset when your dimensioning...... You think you clicked the face of stud, but you got the face of sheathing.

I rarely have that happen, but I have. I think as long as you have the stud (or whatever) as the core AC snaps to the core 99% of the time... but I do find myself zooming in to click a node for dimensioning. Good thing "they" came up with the scroll wheel:)

<T>Have developed a problem I have not seen before. Elevation hatch does not line up automatically any more. See the attached pic below. The green highlighted element is a slab. Have snapped it directly to the wall below it, and the wall above it is snapped directly to the corner of the slab. Have noticed it in a couple of other drawings also, but have been able to ignore it.

It was created while the accuracy is set is 1/64" inch. Which is another issue within the office. What is the recommended accuracy. One of my techs insists on using that value because he thinks anything less will not enable him to snap directly to points. As he zooms in closer and closer, it appears elements are not really snapped to points, even though the check mark appears while snapping. I wonder if the two issues are related somehow.</T>

Try the texture origin. Im not on my CAD computer so forget the exact menu command.
I only works if you are in 3D not section view.
This is (was) a bug with edges of inclined roofs and textured but doesnt seem to be related to your issue.

Tom,
You could do what Tom suggests. While in the 3D window, select
the slab and go to Design->Align->texture, but then you would
have to do the same thing to the upper wall.
I have found it easier to hold the floor slabs to the inside of
the walls and extend the lower wall up to the bottom of
the upper wall. Then you only have to adjust the fill of the upper wall.
You could make the wall multistory then you would not have
the adjust the fill at all unless you wanted the fill pattern to
start somewhere other than the base of the wall.
I don't have this problem, but I have a different way to build the model. I think you are working with a stud frame assembly? I place a slab without any edge material exactly where the real floor would go. I place the wall composite with the reference line at the stud face, with composites of sheathing and siding on the outside of the reference line. I wrap the floor slab with a composite of just siding and sheathing on a layer (exterior walls misc) that gets turned off for printing... (as you can see it goes through the windows and doors in plan view). I also wrap a dedicated composite (for calculations mainly) for corner boards at the corners. All displays as needed. While this might seem time consuming, I fine it quick in the end.

I use a wall that only shows the thickness of the stud wall itself. For our purposes, the composites are superfluous. My attachment below shows the 3d texture using the internal engine and hidden lines. The surface fill of the wall is corrected, as opposed to the typical elevation as shown above. It seems the two engines handle the material texture differently. I swear I never had this problem before in three and half years. I can't believe I was that lucky.

I don't notice any, not compared to the advantages. I like highly developed composites. I like the way the finished drawings read and print, and attaching property scripts to them. So, I'll have one for siding I'll offset 1.25", and one for stucco I offset 1.5 inches. It keeps the stud where it needs to be... over the edge of the floor framing. So, whatever wall composite I need will align properly with the framing. I do have the composites linked to property objects, so that's a great reason to develop accurate composites.

Since I do reuse my plans for many years, over and over, my only regret has been laziness to properly set things up earlier on. But, at this point I am pretty well standardize and everything integrates well. I do think the more true to life you model the better off you are in the long run. If you'll never open a project again to extract info, then it probably doesn't manner at all, but I do daily, so to offset a reference line for true framing based modeling is worth the little extra effort. And, with favorites it's pretty automatic to key in your main assemblies.

I only offset to the framing component (stud or block). If I use a stucco/block composite I offset the composite to the block, or 1.5". The walls above align appropriately to the framing.
