ArchiCAD file speed on different computers

i'm trying to determine an issue between computers.

at the office ArchiCAD itself runs fine, however some jobs (15-60 hotlinked apartments) can become painfully slow. they are mostly fine, but have their moments of lagging especially in the 3D window.

the office PC's are Xeon E5 1620-V3, 16GB ram, nVidia Quadro K4200 4gb, and an SSD drive. most libraries are referenced off the networked server.

if i run the file at home, it runs flawlessly. pc is similarly specced... i7 3770k, 16GB ram, nVidia GTX760 4GB, and an SSD drive. libraries are referenced locally.

both run the most up to date version of ArchiCAD 19. all work environments, 3D settings, etc. are the same from what i can tell.

is this difference in speed a result of the library location? or is there something i have overlooked on the computer specs... the office PC's are relatively new. mine is less than a week old, so no clutter.

It's best to run the 'standard' libraries locally and only have project/office specific libraries on the server from my experience. The standard libraries shouldn't change between different workstations and projects will recognise the default path to them, so there is no need to re-link them.

Also in ArchiCAD 19 the number of tabs open has quite an impact on speed.

It is relatively easy to test it: just load those libraries from your local computer in your office instead of the network and you will see if it has any effect on the speed.
By the way, I agree that only Office-specific libraries should be loaded from the network. ARCHICAD default libraries should be loaded from the local machine and their content should not be modified.

loading the libraries locally seems to have made little to no difference.

what else can i look at that would cause the discrepancy? both are opening the exact same file, so all layers, tabs open, etc. are identical.

from my understanding the PC's are very similar specced, nothing stands out to me that would cause a big speed difference?

If the difference is only in the 3D window it is up to the video card and its drivers

Speed is a serious problem for ArchiCAD. It just works slowly by itself, the engine, or whatever developers call it, runs very slowly and does not use the capacity of the PC. Currently working in a file with ~5000 objects in the plan (mostly 2D+dimensions). CPU usage at 15%, free system memory 10 GB, GPU usage ~ 0%. But it is a pain to drag, copy, pan etc. All the operations happen with 5-7 seconds lag. System resources are almost free to use, cmon! but no, ArchiCAD does not wan to use it.
Please, force AC to use the resources!

Pbc and projection of walls, cw, roof, morphs, objects ... This is what slow down AC in my opinion ... More you have this stuff into your plan and slower is AC

Another big slow down for 2D is fills.
More specifically older or poorly made fills.
These are then made worse again if used in objects.
Just as a test, (make a copy of the project file to chop to bits)
delete all the fills through attribute manager except for 1 solid fill (with 0% opacity)

We had 1 fill that was used to represent 200x200 tiles that when applied
to the plan view of an object (a downpipe in this case) would
bring the plan to a screeching halt in the right MVO situation.

Yes, i forgot to mention fills.
Especially the fills with rounded parts (circles, arcs).
Often I switch off cover fills in MVO to speed up the 2D
