National CAD Standards will probably evolve into Global CAD Standards.
That will be an advantage to some and a disaster for others.

That question is too complicated to answer easily or quickly.

The short answer is that there is no Residential CAD Standard. There is no need for it.
One of the main reasons for this is because a set of House Plans is typically produced 100% in-house by only one person who has no reason to share or exchange any CAD files with anyone. It is only the .pdf's/Plans that you get paid for. Whatever you did to generate those Plans is irrelevant to the person who is paying for the Plans.

This is true to some extent for some Commercial projects too.

Essentially, CAD Standards and Office Standards are not necessary unless your have a need to share or exchange CAD files.

Of courses everyone can benefit from working in an organized and efficient way, but that does not necessarily equate to using a National CAD Standard, Office Standards, or even an ArchiCAD Template.

Another idea is that there is no reason to have a different CAD Standard for Residential and Commercial projects.
