<T>I tried putting a window on the 1st story floor but it wouldnt let me. I dont see any options in slab or roof to do this except for the 'override surfaces' option which is always grayed out. Ive also tried putting one on the roof to make a skylight but it still doesnt let me.</T>

Depress the button next to the Surface name to activate this option. Another option is to cut a hole in the Slab and place a Skylight using the Object Tool.

You should add a Signature to your Profile (click the Profile button near the top of this page) with your ArchiCAD version and operating system (see mine for an example) for more accurate help in this forum.
