Yes, the reason you cannot place Doors/Windows into Walls located in a Hotlinked Module is that Hotlinked Modules cannot be changed in the host file, only in the source file, and placing a Door/Window into a Wall would have to change the Wall geometry.

As far as I know, Walls in a host file should intersect with Walls in the Hotlinked Module file if their Layer Intersection Group numbers are identical. Could you provide some screenshots about this issue and the Layer Settings Dialog? Also, check that the View > On-Screen View Options > Wall & Beam Reference Lines toggle is OFF.

<T>Hi there..need advice
i'm new to archicad...that said here is what i'm wondering about
i have several floors with the same layout, the only thing changing is the position and/or size of the windows.
did make a module and copied them onto the floors wanting to insert windows manually...did not work.
Question number 1: is it even possible?
then i remowed the perimeter wall from the module, wanting to draw it manually and into that wall insert the windows...the new wall would not intersect withe module walls...layer priorities are a match in mod. and pln. file
ideas welcome.
thanks</T>
