Your options will differ depending on if the roof is Single-plane or Multi-plane. To edit the ridge and turn it into a gable will require a Multi-plane roof as shown in the image.

You can do it with Single-plane roofs also but you'll need to delete the hip and just edit the other two roofs.

Also if your roofs are grouped or hotlinked, this may also affect the editing options.

Cheers,

<R>Hi, I'm pretty new to archicad, and having problems with editing a complex roof on Archicad 21. In this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSNyWR57Ylk (from archicad 15) everything seems so easy, but I can't get any more options than to move the whole roof, multiply, mirror, etc. What I want to do is to move the node on the sides of the ridge and make a gabel on each side. Thanks for any answers.

Sindre:

A screen shot of what you are seeing might help. One possibility is that the Roof is part of a Group, and Groups are Enabled.

You should add a Signature to your Profile (click the Profile button near the top of this page) with your ArchiCAD version and operating system (see mine for an example) for more accurate help in this forum.
