<R>Hi!
I'm modelling a monolithic stairs. The lower surface is curved, but I'd like it to be straight (like the red line). I don't understand which parameter I have to change.
Thanks in advance.
Yes it is a problem and I wish something could be done about it.
The best I have found is to model the stair and then split the structure.
The flat underside height can then be controlled for winders and landings, but the flights will still have a bit of a curve to them on the underside.
But at least you are still dealing with one stair.

Otherwise you need to model each flight and landing/winder separately.
TIP: Initially create one stair so you can get the riser heights, then ALT-click to get the default settings, now make your individual pieces - each with the correct number of risers.

This will allow you to have flat undersides to the flights and the landings/winders you can set the height of a flat underside.
This is messy if you ever need to adjust the floor to floor height.

Here is a post where I mentioned the problem before.

Since there aren't actually any winders, unlike in Barry's link, just set the landing to a flight rather than a winder.

Thanks to both of you. This time I can choose the simpler solution.
@Ling, may I ask you please how can I get the horizontal underside in the landing like your stair on the right? I get two separate steps with the same thickness.

Step by step instructions (forgive the pun)
Go into EDIT mode and then select the higher of the 2 landings.
Now you can set the thickness of the landing to be what you want.
i.e. add the riser height to the landing thickness and the base will now match the lower landing base.

Like so many of these big programs, the majority (common?) of users only know a fraction of it that is relevant to the work they do and maybe a tad more and even then, what they know maybe different to someone else who does the same work.
