Anyone who knows is bound by an NDA. It will be announced next week I believe. Just gotta hold on a bit longer, but it's certainly worth waiting for in my opinion!

I can hardly wait to hear what delights are in store!
After the huge benefits Revisions, Cinerender & PDF editing brought last year my expectations are very high!
Unfortunately we will have to wait until July I think before we will get our release.

Assuming that this is true, while performance upgrades are always welcome (And great in keeping up with hardware technological improvements), the (potential) lack of new features or improvement in existing features (you know the ones we're talking about) that have long been lagging in getting any attention, is always a concern.

However if this is the case, I'm hoping for an improvement in ArchiCAD's ability to handle high geometry/high polycount objects - including de facto native objects like Morphs - and also vitally important in light of their new Rhino bridge (Which needs a lot of work).

Maybe this post will be censored. I apologize if I unveiled suspense but I will not write what you will find in the future version, just more certainly what you will not find in ! This is what we know from France after an indiscretion (error) of the Graphisoft german site and the link was quickly removed, but to late.

What irritates me is that very simple actions to do, have not been developed by Graphisoft, later maybe ? Always in my opinion, beyond improved calculation views , little writing computer code was necessary for really increase the productivity of drawings, and increase the efficiency of software for many users

Here are some examples of little things that make us happy and correspond to our needs if some existing tools were consolidated (may be these needs are not yours ? )...

What we know is te fact that you have very little chance to acquire the following features in AC V19:

_ Having the texts of zones displayed in sections views. What a waste of time to copy texts from the plan view to the cuts view ( without counting the risk of error and it's stupid because this information already exists see http://simpleaddon.com/Eng/zn_product.html )
_ Having flags (existing, demolish, construct) in composites and complexe profiles themselves (I am not sure on this specific subject, here we can be surprise but without any certainty)
_ Having dynamic links to control variables IFC (http, etc.)
_ Align, put, rotate vectorial hatching textures of materials in sections and/or elevations views.( In 3D view it's painful )
_ Having the section and elevation marks that could display in 3D (such as grids elements) and especially automatically in elevations and/or cuts views.

For heavy developments, we understand that you'll never see on the update AC v19: *

_ A new stairmaker ( no hope for this release, sorry for muril00ng and TAI, personally we wait for more than 15 years now ! )
_ An Excel import into the shedule nor the 3 missing elementary arithmetic operations
_ Windows and doors in the shell
_ Morph along a path with magic wand ( painful to click all the point and the first one must be normal to the face !)
_ Repetitive elements in the plane perpendicular into the complex profile editor ( the way for 3D handrails and guardrails generator ) and plugs to their end if they are free
_ A convivial GDL interface for windows, doors and other parametrics objects, as for Revit families
_More flexibility with the curtain walls editing in plan view

Our teams and I greatly appreciate Archicad, but we are worried because if we can understand that we can never know in advance the content of the innovations in a new version, we would at least be informed of the evolution and development of existing tools.
On this point, Graphisoft has much work to do just to reassure its customers.
( we have more 20 licenses !)

We stay Zen, still hope to be pleasantly surprised, we look forward to the final version

My quick, once-over review.....

Some nice features and improvements....

Some odd new features...

Some typical, obvious (and expected) omissions and neglected areas still crying out for attention and dire improvement....(you know which ones).

I like the tabbed windows and background updating along with the OpenGL performance improvements (looking forward to see how it holds up with Morphs and Polygon heavy objects), but disappointed that there doesn't seem to be any added support for Multi-Monitor set-ups and windows spread out across multiple displays - especially given the power that modern GPU's and video cards have which can handle it (not to mention CPU's).
It seems like a strange are to neglect for a profession that relies heavily on graphics and display, and in which screen real-estate is a premium.
Particularly given the interface issues we've had in the past.

Overall this seems to be more of a "performance upgrade" rather than a "features upgrade".

Which can either be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you were expecting.

I guess it's therefore a good thing that ArchiCAD users have (mostly and thankfully) been conditioned to be low-expectations/low-bar users over various versions.

Will know more when I actually get to test-drive it;
...demo videos can only show you so much....

I suggested that when I was part of the beta-test group of version 10.
That's a while ago, but maybe I should claim part of the revenues 😉

I agree Thomas,
If I may say, that good feeling mostly comes from the fact that ArchiCAD will work faster and better without us having to learn new tools (functionalities) rather only adjust (not to hard) to few new procedures, especially unified widow interface (I love it).
However, I have one question already posted (AC19 Announcement) but not yet answered: How Retina display works in AC19; did anyone experienced? I hope all is OK as I am about to by new Mac Pro.

No issues using it in a MBP 15" Retina at this moment.
Anything specific that you are looking for?
