<R>AHRRR! I'm trying to get use to this dock in 19, but it's driving me crazy (short putt actually) I can't open a window over the new dock 'feature'.

It's nice that I can cleanly arrange my pallets but Jeeze! It's way too hard/counter intuitive to do that and if i want to open the archicad forum from the help menu or switch over to 'finder', my Archicad continues to float over top of it. I have to minimize Archicad to get to other windows! Worse and most convenient of all, the search and select pallet keeps disappearing behind the window also!

..Pain, ...Pain, ...Pain!

Archicad version 19 on Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.3

my best wishes and condolences to you all,
While not using 19, the way I setup my computer should work for any system.
I set up 3 desktops, one for Archicad, another for browser and email another for finder. I have a Logitech MX master mouse with additional buttons and a side wheel. I set the side wheel funtion to "navigate between apps"
When I scroll, all the apps I have open flash up on the screen, I select the one I want and it takes me to the desktop it is on. No opening apps or moving stuff around. Big time saver.

Not 100% sure what you mean, but right click on the tab and select undock. Then you can have a floating window. You can also turn off the whole docking/tab function if you don't like it.

Try dragging your navigator over rather than the tool box inward.

There are technical and functional differences between Palettes and Toolbars. Like on Windows, Toolbars can only be placed around the extremity of the work environment - Toolbars also don't stretch/expand like Palettes.
This is the difference you are seeing above. The main Toolbox is a Palette, but there is also a Toolbar Toolbox set as well (with smaller icons).

Yep... I was using the "Toolbar" toolbox
(Trying to save every pixel of screen real estate).
It works when I switch to the "Palette" Toolbox.
I did have that problem when setting up my new WE. I switched to legacy view mode and all was well, then switched back to my WE and all worked fine. Thanks for reminding me where the checkbox was David! But box was unchecked. No sure what was up, but its working now. Maybe not the most logical place for the option, plus not only the palletes were covering other applications, the entire AC 19 screen was.
The new tab feature is a very nice addition but I'm wondering why I cannot drag a view directly from the navigator to create a new tabbed view. Instead there is yet another new menu that I have to open to then find a navigator style menu. Seems a bit bloated and unintuitive.
