i think you might possibly be the only person in the history of archicad who wants the sound effects. everyone else has asked for ways to turn them off in the past!

Custom sound effects?

<T>I would like to make my cad machine sound more like a video game. For example: I would really love to have a laser beam sound effect every time I use my clip tool. I think an explode sound every time you exploded something would be cool as well.

I know these are all .wav files and I have found the folder that they are in. My question is really "is there a way to make each tool have a different sound?"</T>

After you have enabled archicad sounds in your Work Environment, you are limited to the sound settings offered in your control panel AFAIK.

They are:

ArchiCAD: 3D Conversion is complete
ArchiCAD: 3D model is complete
ArchiCAD: 3D Projection is complete
ArchiCAD: Default Sound (this is the original AC 'honk' used for editing)
ArchiCAD: Digitiser is clicked
ArchiCAD: Rendering is complete
ArchiCAD: VR is complete

Unless there is a registry hack, I don't think you can assign sounds to specific tools. One of my clients had assigned Homer's D'oh! to the default sound once, and it just about drove me mental after the first hour.

Good luck.

Cheers,
OK, I wanna do this to, I may have just wasted 15 precious minutes on this now, I am SURE the clients will understand.
