Turning off a layer is making a niche in wall

When i turn off my slab layer it makes a niche in a wall and in everything that i put there. What can cause this and how can i get rid of this ?

You should give the hidden layer a different Layer Intersection Group Number, then save that as a Layer Combination. In the Help files see: Configuration > Attributes > Layers > Use Layers to Prevent Intersections.

You should add a Signature to your Profile (click the Profile button near the top of this page) with your ArchiCAD version and operating system (see mine for an example) for more accurate help in this forum.

Priority Based Connections are coming into play here.
I am assuming you are using version 17 or 18 (you should add this info to your profile signature or at least mention it in you post as the sanswer can depend on the version you are using - also your operating system).

Now back to the problem.
Even though you have turned the layer off, whatever you have in it will still interact with elements in other layers when those layers have the same Intersection Priority Number.
You will see this number when you open the layer dialogue.
If you change your slab layer IPN to be different to your wall layer then the PBC will not happen and your wall will not be trimmed.

The trick here is when you have the slab layer on you want it to have the same IPN as the wall layer and when it is off you want it to be different.
So be sure to set up Layer Combinations.
Whenever the slab is on in a layer combination make sure it has the same IPN as the wall layers.
And when it is off in a layer combination make sure the IPN is different to the wall layers.
The IPN for each layer is saved in the layer combination - just select the layer on the right of the layer setup dialogue and adjust the IPN in the layer combination list on the left - changes made will be saved automatically.
Or you can select the layer combination on the left and then change all the layer IPNs on the right but you must then press the UPDATED button to save the change.
