No you need to select both walls and then EDIT menu > Reshape > Merge Walls.
Attach Wall

<T>I'm not sure how I can attach one wall to another wall. If I have two walls lined up as in the attached image, I know how to "Adjust" or "Extend" the top wall segment down to the lower wall segment, but they still wont attach or combine; they are still two distinct wall segments.

I want it to become one wall segment.

Any pointers as to how I can do this?</T>

There is a "Merge Walls" command in the EDIT > RESHAPE menu, but this will create a new complex profile from the merged walls.
However all you need to do is then switch it back to be a composite type wall.
Not sure what you mean.

I right click on one wall, then select Connect->Merge Elements. I then click on the other wall and it displays:

"This element cannot be merged with the selection. Please click on a roof, shell or morph"

I only see this merge walls command in version 20; In version 18, I don't see it.

Thanks

Thanks

It has been there since at least version 15.
But it used to be in ... DESIGN menu > Complex Profiles > Merge Walls

That is why it is important to say what version of Archicad you are using otherwise we will generally assume you are using the latest version.
