Outlines in 3D view

<T>The 3d view shows very weird outlines around objects which makes the object look ugly. For example this tree in the image has weird red outlines which makes the tree almost unidentifiable. Is there any way to switch these outlines off or change their intensity. Help appreciated - Thanks.</T>
