I often use profiler for gutters since they don't have the shape I need but in archicad 19 it is not creating a matching profile. I never had a problem in 17. Is there an accuracy setting for the profiler somewhere. I tried looking it up in the reference guide but profiler does not come up in that.

I tried to add a sample attachment but it wouldn't show up

Check your magic wand settings. Try using complex profiles. ?

I tried the magic wand settings to no avail and I finally did use the complex profiles but it is difficult to uses since it treats the object like a beam and I have to place the object based on the center line that is not adjustable when its a complex profile so everything has to be placed "X" distance from where you want it to be. Its amazing that something that used to work so well doesn't now. With all my other complaints about 19 I wish I had never upgraded from 17 and I may return to using 17. down spouts do not work as well as they did, the wall intersections are now inconsistent with the same settings. I'm disappointed and 20 doesn't look any better

It is probably just a few things you need to learn about how to get what you want. When you make a complex profile, there is an origin you need to consider. Place your fills relative to that origin so you know exactly where they will be placed. Also, add some hot spots.

Does changing the Resolution of the gutter help?

I did place the fill next to the origin when creating the complex profile but when I went to place it on the plan I assumed that the beam tool was the best way to implement it instead of the wall tool. When using the beam tool I tried to offset the center which which you can do with normal beams but it would not let me in this case I think because of the odd shape of an Ogee gutter. I will look at the link you provided later today to see if there is any help there that said I never had these issues before and I've been using Archicad since 4.1. creating more steps to get things done is not an improvement in how something works. Thats not your problem but I'm repeating it hoping that Graphisoft will catch on.

One reason to use an object instead of a complex profile is for the sake of very smooth curves which you can't get if you make the Ogee gutter as a complex profile wall, or beam. Have you ever noticed how much smoother a Molding object is than any complex profile you can make? This is because they have a GDL script in those objects that control Resolution.

I would like to know how to add that code/script to objects so I could make my own very smooth gutters and other objects from a slab or something.

I have to fuss with converting to morph and other things to compensate for not knowing how to make my objects as smooth as they can possibly be in ArchiCAD.

Try to make these curves with a complex profile. I can't do it.

I make lots of gutters but I am not really happy with the curves I can make.

I wish there was a 5" Ogee K-style Molding. I guess I need to see if I can hack one of the Molding objects for that.

Or perhaps one of the GDL guru's will do it for me ?
