section - elevation DETAIL MAKER

Is there a special way of making a detail in section..ie opening the sectioin and activating the detal tool and marking the area for the detail ? OF late I have not been able to do this....and it would be nice to be able to do.

Why are you not able to do it? Can you provide more details?

AFAIK the only place you can't use the detail window in AC10 is in another detail window or in the 3D window.

Are you sure you're using the correct geometry method?

AC !0 is in use on my MAC....I have been doing this procedure just fine for 5 years. Now some button or other must have been pushed...but which one ?

I checked out the 3D window...not htere. and I tried it with several projects always had the same result. What is the geometry method ?
