When examining a portion of a model in 3D I've noticed that the 'orbit' command at the bottom of my screen sometimes doesn't orbit. The LH mouse button and mouse movements move the image up and down and left to right but don't rotate it. I say 'sometimes' because most times it works s it is supposed, that is rotate the object or portion being examined. What am i doing that is stopping it from working properly?

No reply yet. That's the problem when one is the only user in the whole word with a particular issue.

I'm also experiencing the same thing sometimes.
Like the 'orbit' is stuck.
You can only go up or down or zoom in and out.

I haven't figured out certain way to get out of it.
Sometimes by hitting the escape button or go in and out of 'orbit' it gets right again.

That's 2 of us in the whole world with this issue. For technical types with nurdish inclinations, this is actually a serious issue for the few of us that suffer from it. Any really clever users with suggested causes, or should I just put up with it?

Does it do the same if you use the middle mouse button? Shift key and clicking middle mouse button in 3D window gives me the Orbit controls. Middle mouse button click alone is Pan mode. Pretty sure they're the default settings.

Thanks Stuart.
I haven't used the mouse button to activate the orbit command. I've been using the tab on the bottom of my screen. I'll try it with the mouse next time it happens (which is not often).

I am running into this issue in 2022. My orbit stopped working (shift + center mouse) and my shortcut, under Work Environment, does to allow me correct this. I can not find a solution yet and it seems to only be an issue in this particular project ( .PLN).

The same thing often happens to me too.
It seems that there is no other way than to end and start again.
It seems like some option is locked, but I can't seem to find it.
