If the wall varies in thickness on different levels, you might want to model the interior wall seperate from the outer wall. Depending on the existing building, this might be a better approach. We have this problem quite often when doing renovation of old buildings.

<T>I am modeling an existing condition where there are windows at half levels, essentially spanning stories. Window displays correctly in plan, but not elevation nor 3d.

Checked all settings I can think of, but unable to solve without help. Thank you</T>

I am guessing you have separate walls on each storey.
If that is the case then you will have to add an empty opening to the upper wall and adjust it to suit the window.

A window can only belong to one wall so can only cut the hole in one wall.

An alternative is to use a multistorey wall.
i.e. place the wall on the lower storey and set the height so it will be tall enough to be in the second storey as well.
Set the wall floor plan display option to "All relevant storeys".
As it is only one wall the window will work perfectly.

If you do this then you will also have to add the window to the external wall and then an empty opening to match on the internal wall.
Depending on interior panelling etc, yes.

When modelling something as below, I would sometimes just model all those panels seperately, to deal with split level headaches of windows in the outer wall.

Thank you Barry (and Erwin). This is a clear explanation of where the problem comes from, and I will find a solution. Your help is very much appreciated.
