correct me if i am wrong. i want to cut section (in elevation) so i can view looked down plan detail.
so far, detail works like enlarged view not cutting plane.
thank you for your input.
So you want to open your elevation and cut a horizontal section?

There's no way of doing that automatically AFAIK. I've never heard of this before.

Isn't this just the original plan view of what you created the elevation with?

Just view the original plan and change the scale (& layers) if necessary.
Create a view of it in the view map so you can control the layers, scale, cuting plane height, etc., all with one click.
Add this view in a layout and you can crop it to show just what you want.
I THINK you want to explore 3D Cutting Planes (under View Menu), and 3D Cutaway. However, you will need to add any cutting reference markers manually on the elevation.

Jae,

I think you need to go back to Barry's post and read it carefully. It appears that you are really asking for normal floor plans. (Which are actually horizontal sections anyway.) What is it about standard floor plans that is not working for you?

Jae, I think you are right - if you <S></S>really<E></E> want to show "section" symbol in elevation, referencing the floor plan(s).

It might look nice graphically, but I believe that the convention is start off from floor plans and "reference" all other views ( sections, elevations ) from the floor plan. Maybe that's why there is no such tool that you are looking for...yet.

Maybe in the future we can have section tool working from section / elevation views also, especially looking up (for RCP).
