It has everything to do with the way you setup your complex profile.

Please make sure you read and understand this answer (to ensure that this issue does not take any of your work time in the future):

<T>Hi, I have a window in a brick veneer wall. In plan the window shows correct position, but when I do a section the window shows as if inside the room, as shown in attachment. Any advice appreciated.</T>

I just had a quick try with this window in the default AUS template and had no problem.
But I don't use the GS windows so am not very familiar with there settings.
The default window in a brick veneer wall seemed to work fine for me.

Maybe wait for someone else that uses this window as they may know the answer to your problem.

In the mean time does this happen for a new window in a new wall using all the default settings?
If it is fine then you have a setting somewhere that is affecting the offset in 3D.

Another thing you can try is to select the wall and the window in plan.
Go to the FILE menu > External Content > Save Selection as Module.
Then zip the .MOD file and attach it here so others can look at it and get your exact settings.

Do you use composite or profiled wall?
I had same problem when I used profiled wall in v15.

Thanks for your help Barry, I ended up just facing the window to the inside, this has resolved the problem. I guess it must be something to do with the way I have set up the complex profile.
Cheers
Scotty:

1. switch on 'Opening Reference' on 'Design Layers' listbox
2. then select the line and move to the centerpoint

Anyway when you create new profile Opening reference and stretch constrains lines remain off. I dot know why.
This topic opened my eyes and I found the solution too.
