    <description>There is one workaround and that is to create 2 views.&lt;BR /&gt;
The first is a 3D doc showing just the beam layer.&lt;BR /&gt;
The second is a floor plan view.&lt;BR /&gt;
Place and align on the layout and you have coloured beams&lt;BR /&gt;

      <description>&lt;DIV class="actalk-migrated-content"&gt;&lt;T&gt;Hi, i'm working on a residential Project and for some reason i can't see the steel beam's surface on any of the plans i'm working on, it appears as a wireframe, can i change this setting so that i can see the beam's surface.&lt;BR /&gt;

I am a new user at archicad so this may be a really basic issue. &lt;BR /&gt;

      <description>Sadly, not in plan view.  For many years, this has been a much-wished-for feature.&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
You can fake it with a top down 3D document, but if you really need a plan view with section lines, etc., that won't really help.</description>
