create a slab with a perimiter edge/upstand

need to create a slab with an upstand of 200mm high and 100mm thick around a punched hole in an existing slab, where there is a staircase.

the upstand needs to be a part of the slab so as to allow an infill to the slab for finishes whilst using the concrete upstand as the edge trim.

I'd suggest using a wall for the "upstand". You can use the magic wand to get it to go around the perimeter of the hole. If the same material as the main slab, it should merge correctly in all views.

The magic wand and a wall works yes.

Problem is the wall doesn't not have same Attributes as the slab ?
I am unable to assign a wall with the slab attributes.

how to do ?

those of the slab and not the wall.

If you are using a simple wall then you just have to set the building material to be the same as that used in the slab.
If you need a composite wall, then create a composite that uses the same building materials as used in the slab.
Actually if you already have a composite set up for the slab and you want the wall to be exactly the same, there is a setting in the composite settings to allow it to be used for slabs and walls.

Or if you just want a quick fix for elevations and 3D views, then you can override the surface materials of the walls and slab edge so they all match.
