Stair Tool AC 21 - Toolboxes disappearing

Getting back to ArchiCAD after a nine year hiatus.
The new Stair tool is not as intuitive as hoped.
When I try to edit a newly placed stair, my toolboxes disappear from the display. The Design, Document and More tools are gone. The only way to get them back is by undoing the stair edits.
Anyone else ran into this issue?

Hi, this is because the stair editing mode works like the curtain wall editing mode, in an isolation mode, so you can work in the stair elements. You just have to click on exit stair editing when you are done with the stair. And if you just want to change the general shape of the stair you don't need to go into the edit mode.

After a long absence from ArchiCAD I am re-learning again. It's a struggle.
