As that thread you linked, you can use image fills. 2D uses a different engine to 3D so you cannot simply pull textures across...

<R>Hello,

As I already had some great answers from this forum, I would love to share a doubt with you.
Is it possible to show the material texture in a 2d drawing (Plan and elevation) ?

I already checked this post but it doesn't really answer my question: <LINK_TEXT text="viewtopic.php?t=50974">https://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=50974</LINK_TEXT>

Im trying to be able to see the texture itself and not a solid color. Is that possible?
Ex: Instead of a brown color, seeing the the wood grain as in a rendering or when orbiting in 3d.

Thank you very much <E>😉</E></R>

You can use the marque tool to get a section view in 3D model. Click "Look to Perpendicular of Clicked Surface"

Lingwisyer wrote:
You can use image fills in plan but it would appear that you cannot assign them to cut surfaces...
That is correct. No image fills for Plan or Section views. But you can get any of those views from the 3d window. It's one of the reasons I am using 3D details more and more now.
