There is no need to change the reference plane. You just need to make sure your skirt height goes down far enough the encompass your lowest node. I have gotten rogue zero nodes when directly using contour data from some sources before...

Ling.

Two related questions:

I have a mountainous terrain that someone else created. It is set to show a solid body but its not. The screenshots show my settings. What needs to change to get it to show? I am concerned about experimenting on this file with out advice. Thanks

Also, the Site is on a Site Story, which is several stories below the project zero story (Main Level). If I adjust any other story settings, will that move the mesh? Is it a matter of watching the project zero for the mesh?

Hi Tod,

The blue square is you reference plane for the mesh. A large part of the mesh is below the reference plane. Are the values for the contours below the. plane set as negative numbers. It is possible this is your problem. I always build the mesh to make sure it is all above the reference plane, so all values positive.

On the second question it really doesn't matter where you keep the mesh. I usually put it below my foundation story. Your reference plane can be be set to whatever distance from project zero (Main Floor?) required.

Any thoughts on an easy way to make all the mesh points positive?

Is the skirt height from the reference plane or the highest node to the lowest? Because I did increase it without effect.

Reference plane. So your contour interval is 5 feet or less? If it is more than 5 feet, your skirt of 800" is not enough.

In you image, you currently have a skirt height of 800".

That needs to be larger than the height from the reference plane to the lowest node on the mesh.
