AC24 vs AC24EDU

Hi,

as I have both, EDU and professional license, it sometimes creates problems. For some reason EDU likes to start all CAD related projects.

Problem is, when I was trying to recover project in PROF version, it starts to run in EDU version.

How can I recover project in PROF version?

Any file save in EDU will remain and EDU file.

Even if you open it in the professional version, the program will switch to EDU mode.

There is no way to convert an EDU file to a professional file.

I would un-install or disable the EDU license so you can not accidentally open professional files in it.

Please apologize, as my description was not detail.

I open PROF version, there is project which I want to recover (red line).

When I hit this red line, project starts/opens in EDU and as you described, it can't be transferred into PROF.

I am not sure what you mean by 'red line'.

But if you open an EDU file in the professional program, it will force the professional program to switch to EDU.

There is no way to convert an EDU file to professional.

That does not stop you from continuing it on as an EDU file.

I am pretty sure you can work on it and save, but it will remain an EDU file.

Yesterday was power breakup and do to that some project did crash as shown in picture below. When I try to recover, it starts in EDU not in PROF. Furthermore, as they are Teamwork project I can't use EDU. Of course I can redo all work again, but for future it will helpful to know other possible solutions.

I am not sure I can be of much help here.

So these were not EDU files in the first place, but are recovery files due to a power blackout and the original files were not saved.

Are you sure you have Archicad 24 Professional open there.

If you hit the 'New' button, does that say you have created an EDU file.

If so you are opening Archicad with the EDU license.

Anything you open from that (and I assume this includes any recovered files) will open as EDU.

This might be something you need to contact your local Archicad support people about.

If it is the professional version of Archicad you have open, then I have no idea why it is trying to open these recovery files as EDU files unless they are EDU files.

But 2 at least are clearly teamwork files and as you say these can not be EDU files.

I am not a teamwork user, but is there another way to open these teamwork files?

Another teamwork member, or are they in BIMCloud somewhere?
