I would like to know if there is a way to show and manipulate a fill in 3D. For example - if I did a 3D view of a restroom and I wanted to detail the tile patter using a fill so that I can control the origin, etc. Tired of drawing fills in an elevation and not being able to have this in a snazzier 3D.

create a 3d document and set the 3d doc settings to show hatches... then make sure the surface is using the correct cover fill (just like you would if it was a 2d elevation)

Use a surface with the fill hatch pattern you want.

Then you can use the 'Align texture in 3D' option to align the hatch (and texture) as you want it.

NOTE, it will affect the hatch/texture on both sides of the wall - they cannot be controlled separately.
