Hi I am assuming you would like the concrete stair to be sitting on the concrete slab and not on the timber. You can adjust the type of connection at different levels of the stair so in this case you would select the Vertical & Horizontal Cut ( see attached ). In the attached image you can also see I have put in 3/4" for dy (finished flooring thickness). In your case it would be the thickness of your timber decking. This will sit the stair on the slab with a horizontal bearing. If the timber is actually under your stair as shown you can SEO subtract the timber from the stair. This may not eliminate the horizontal line at the stair slab joint but there would be one there anyway as you wouldn't form the slab and stair at the same time.

Cheers,

thanks Gerald,

i have solved with SEO but this slows down the program. i just wonder why they don't connect as they are after SEO.

"you wouldn't form the slab and stair at the same time." not sure but they have the same material along with touching each other, imo they should merge and there should be another fundamental changing in the program other than SEO.

Aryastark,

The other option is to subtract that piece of timber where the stair goes through. This is actually how it would be built anyway.

Cheers,

You could also model it by setting the proper lower end Connection type for the Stair:

Right now the Stair and the Slab are colliding in 3D. You should perform a Solid Element Operation, with the Stair as Operator, the Slab as Target, and Subtraction as the Operation.

Or as Laszlo suggested in a previous post, adjust the bottom end connection.

Set the height below floor level to zero.

You don't have to use the 'Horizontal' connection, others allow you to adjust this figure also.
