How do I work with hotlinks?

I need to connect a hotlink like this.

I am not sure if the link would work for SSA customers only, but best not take the risk.

It clearly states on the second page...

This is a question of how you are doing because there is no overlap in autocad and Revit.

The description of hotlinks in this book is of no use to me.
I made 7 buildings.(building 1~7.pln)
But you have to collect these buildings. With underground parking..(all building.pln)
However, since it is a mountain, the starting position and height of each building are different.
So you cannot create a building section in all building.pln.
(It would be possible if the story was drawn by hand... or if the story could be dragged for each section...)

So I have to collect one building and an underground parking lot.
For the cross-sections that are expressed up to the underground parking lot ....

unit.mod -> building 1.pln -> full building 1.pln <- basement parking.pln
full building 1.pln has gdl issues.

That is the E-book section of the Graphisoft Learn portal.

The 3rd item is the hotllink PDF that Scott was mentioning.

If you have an SSA or FORWARD service agreement with Graphisoft, then it is free with the "SSA_ACCESS" code - otherwise you have to pay.

You can then "Purchase" the PDF (don't use 'enter access code - doesn't work for me at least).

Enter the discount coupon "SSA_ACCESS" (without the quotes) and apply it.

It should now be free and you can purchase it.

You will get a notification with a link to download the file.

I am not a hotlink expert - I rarely use them.

So if anyone want to correct me - please feel free.

'Unit Module' into' Building' is no problem.

'Building' into 'All' is no problem and that will bring in the 'Unit Modules' as well.

'Base Parking' into 'All' is no problem.

'Base Parking' into' Building' is no problem, but you are then linking 8 x 'Building' into 'All' that already has the 'Base Parking' in it.

So to me you are getting 9 copies of 'Base Parking' in the 'All' file.

I would skip 'All' completely and just link the 'Buildings' into 'Base Parking'.

Don't link the "Base Parking' into the 'Building' modules either.

Each 'Building' hotlink can have its own master layer.

That way you can turn each 'Building' on individually on the 'Base Parking' (by turning the other 'Building' master layers off), or you can show all of the 'Building' modules by turning all of the 'Building' master layers on.

That is how I would do it.

I have replied to show you what I would do for the hotlinking of files.

But as I said I am no expert when it comes to hotliking.

There was no mention in this post of storeys or heights being an issue.

But I believe you can ignore storey levels when placing a hotlink - but as I said in my reply, I rarely use them.

Hopefully linking them as I have shown (ignoring storey levels if they are all different), will allow you to place each building at the correct height in relation to the parking.

However, this method causes problems in the story.
Each building star story is different. This is because there are three different starting heights, and the height of the first floor is different depending on the situation.
In All, I think it is correct to use Story only under the underground parking lot GL.

If the problem in the GDL and hotlink parts that I asked is not resolved,
Looks like I'll have to do a double job.

Can I test it more and ask a question?

These are the settings I was referring to.

Ignore storey heights of the host - keep storey structure of hotlink.

The height offset can be set to what is needed or I believe it can be adjusted once the hotlink have been placed.

The overall plan view may not be correct if you are trying to look at all of the buildings with the parking at the same time.

Purely because the same floors will be at different physical levels - there is not much you can do about that.

But floor plan wise, you would get the information from the individual building FILES.

If you need the parking in the building plan, maybe you can overlay a drawing in the layout.

Section wise and 3D wise though, the parking with all of the buildings linked in should be correct.

I found this.
There is no problem in the basement floor plan for each dong because there is no connection part.
I need to connect the ground floor in this drawing and the basement floor outside in the layout... The end of the wall seems to be a problem.
Any solution?

Revit, autocad ends when everything starts in the command.
Archicad starts with how to use it, so my head gets complicated. ^^

Yes you use that to place drawings (views) to your layout from an external file.

Placing drawings, they will not connect in any way.

All you can do is lay one drawing on top of or next to another drawing.

Only in the 3D model will the walls connect.

@LeeJaeYoung Is this what you are attempting if you are looking sectionally through the mountain?

Or does the base carparking run connected underneath all buildings?

Will any of the floor levels between the different buildings match?

Are the floor to floor heights of all the buildings the same?
