Wall into curtain wall

Hi,
I'm a new Archicad user coming from Revit and wanted to know if it's possible to swap a wall with a curtain wall without redrawing it? In Revit you can simply click the wall you want to change then go to the type selector and pick a curtain wall and it swaps it.

This is a difference between Revit and Archicad.
In Revit, Curtain Wall is a Wall type.
In Archicad, Curtain Wall is a different element that is created with a different Tool.
So yes, you will have to model it separately.

A tip: both Walls and Curtain Walls have a Reference Line and their geometry is generated based on and relative to the Reference Line. So you can use the Magic Wand method to quickly draw the Curtain Wall:
1. Select the Curtain Wall tool.
2. Hold down the SPACE key (shortcut for the Magic Wand command) and click the Reference Line of the Wall. The Curtain Wall will be placed.
3. Select the Wall and delete it.

Just chanced upon this thread. Was wondering if it is possible to replace Wall elements to curtain wall elements by using Python scripting?

I think Archicad's Python implementation at this point does not include the capability of creating elements.

I think you may be able to do this with the Archicad-Grasshopper Connection: get the Wall geometry, and use that as a basis for the creation of the Curtain Wall element.
