topic Gradient Fill in Modeling

<T>Can anyone suggest a way of automatically getting a gradient (Blue to light ble) fill to generate on windows glass materials for shaded elevations. If this is not possible in any way is there a way of magic wanding the gradient fill to the broken 2d elevations window so the gradient is going from top to bottom at a set gradient?

Thanks in advance for any help.</T>

Even if you can associate a gradient fill to a material (I don't know - haven't tried it) it probably won't do what you want automatically. If you want to try it though, it would be done in the material settings dialog.

Edit or create the material to be applied to the glass. The magic wand should work just fine.

No you cant attach a gradient fill to a material but does anyone know of a work around?
If one wants to magic wand a gradient fill or match properties is merely goes back to the default orientation.

Gradient Fills are hard-coded into ArchiCAD, so I can't see any way to trick Attribute Manager to create a copy of the material with a new internal ID #. So AFAICS it is impossible to assign one to a material.

Furthermore the gradient fill has it's fill orientation and distortion locked out, so there's no way to magic wand an area and set the orientation on the fly.

[The <S></S>geometry<E></E> of elements are never transferred with a parameter transfer, so it would never orientate itself automatically anyway].

At the very least you are able to rotate the fill orientation once it has been placed. I guess that's something...

Cheers,
