The fence could possibly have blown out your poly count? Which would be down to your CPU and RAM most likely. You would have to test to see where the bottleneck is.

Archicad can be quite memory hungry as the file increases in size as I have noticed from what others write ?

I am running AC24 and I have a single story duplex file from a past single story template file.

I am now having trouble viewing the perspective in open GL, it not loading but I have a 10 year old HP Elite gaming pc with only 8GB of RAM. I have purchased more RAM to double the capacity very soon. I can purge a few things from the template by the way ?

Will that help or do I need more power for low residential work ?

You should add the rest of your computer specs to your signature. Have you checked your computers memory usage while using AC? Are you sure it is not your CPU or GPU struggling, or that your HDD is failing?

Hi Lingwisyer, thank you for your reply. I will check my PC specifications and put them on my signature. I found that my system didn’t like the way my colorbond fences were constructed by me from an invisible wall. I saved the file and created a new one and deleted the fences and that fixed it.

I have a HP Elite 575a from 2012, it was Windows 7 when I bought it and I did a free upgrade to Windows 10 a year ago. It’s a quadcore i7 3.4GH processor with 8GB of ram installed. I will have to check the graphics card though. I ordered another 8GB of ram from Amazon Australia, very good prices BTW.

Edit: Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 530.

         Intel Core i7 (2600) 3.40GHz 4-Core CPU.

Thank your for the AC24 requirements link. I have seen the AC26 just before your link and the AC25 link.

My machine has 2 recommended specifications that it doesn’t meet for AC24, in that I don’t have a SSD hard drive in it and my GPU is not 2GB as recommended for entry level. I am hoping that my memory upgrade to 16GB will compensate for it because the recommended is only 8GB ?

Edit: Results from doubling the memory from 8GB to 16GB was AC24 load time of project went from 7min down to 3.5min approximately.

The system still doesn’t want to do a 3D perspective with my fences included in the file using the basic engine ???

I will bring up with them when they contact me again next year. Till then I will keep working on the project without the fences included.

Thank you.
