Creating a Fill with polylines?

I cannot create a fill with polyline.
So when a explode the polylines they do not convert into lines.
How can I create a fill with out having to re-draw with lines my own polyline pattern?

Hi, use the Linework consolidation Tool, and mark the option to convert polylines in primitives. This will convert your polylines in lines and arcs.
Edit > Reshape > Linework Consolidation.

OK, so I tried this on my shape below. It acted as if it did as asked but it is still not a shape if group is off it is individual elements and I cannot create a heavy solid line and a fill pattern.

It was originally created in autocad

The above line consolidation will result in just lines.

If you want a fill, you will have to magic wand a fill to follow the perimeter or flood the area.

You can keep the fill and from fill settings you can add fill outline and match its color and weight with the poly line came from auto.
