As Lining has suggested, check your rail connections.

I have shown it using a 'rail' instead of a 'top rail'.
But it is the same.
In fact using a 'top rail' is easier as the rail height is calculated from the top of the rail.
With a 'rail', the height is measured to the centre of the rail.
Top Sloped Walls

<T>is there a way without solid operations/ complex profiles or morphs to make a wall with a sloped top? i have a bunch of wall fences laid out on an uneven terrain, so in order to control the height at specific points the top needs to be adjustable.
Complex profiles are not easy to work with especially for a lot of walls, morphs also are not easy to manipulate like walls, you cant just drag a points.
Essentially the ideal solution would be a wall that i can grab a point and lift it up on z where it fits me.

Any ideas?</T>

Have you tried the railing tool?
It will follow your terrain if you associate to contour nodes.

thanks for replying.
could you explain a bit more? the wall fence wouldn't necessarily snap to contour nodes (i suppose you mean the mesh points), most of the time its a freeform spline.

i just need the top part to slope up and down whenever i want. i would have to do that manually because it doesn't follow the terrain precisely.

The railing will only associate to nodes on the mesh.
The points in between may end up above or below the mesh surface.
But you can manually adjust the railing node heights.

Or just create a "Fit to User Ridge" on the mesh where you want the fence/wall to go.
Make sure there is a node on this contour for every point that you want to control the height of the railing.
This will create a node (post) at each of these points on the railing.
In my example you will see a fence post on each of these nodes (and some inner posts between if the span is long enough).

But if you have a plain wall (just a single rail), you will have the posts turned off.

Thats exactly what i m looking for!
and to make the rail look like a wall you just use the panel option?

No don’t use a panel.
Delete the top rail and hand rails and the inner posts and the end posts.
Just set one rail to the size of the wall you want with the base at zero height.
You may also need to set the connection of the rail to continuous.

I don’t have ArchiCAD with me at the moment so I can’t show any images.
By using a Rail you are also able to assign a complex profile to your wall if your require some detail that is extruded along the length of the wall.

That is due to the corner connection settings. Sometimes deleting the corner node will clean it up, other times you will need to fiddle with the corner radius in the rail settings.
