    <description>&lt;P&gt;You can't.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You need the walls to be continuous through the column (the column will cut the wall if the building materials are stronger).&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;But still it will magic wand to the walls and ignore the column.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Or add lines around the columns.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Or manually place the slab.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

      <title>How can I recognize columns as boundaries?</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Practicing beams and slabs.&lt;BR /&gt;When creating a slab, I press space to automatically find the boundary, but it doesn't seem to recognize the column.&lt;BR /&gt;How can I recognize columns as boundaries?&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;It's a beam, not a wall.&lt;BR /&gt;This means that the beam must also be continuous.&lt;BR /&gt;In my opinion, it's hard to understand why columns are excluded when finding slab boundaries.&lt;BR /&gt;It seems to be archiCAD's mistake. ^^&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Columns do not have a horizontal reference line like walls and beams, and it seems the perimeter of the column is ignored - I don't know why.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Probably just because they are not a linear element.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;So there is noting to magic wand to.&lt;/P&gt;
