adjust areas = update zone

i am using the zone tool to calculate areas.....

i have placed zones and am trying to edit them
when i adjust the perimeter of the zone, the area does not change

the measured gross area but does not show on the floor plan
the measured net area will apear on the floor plan.... but that number does not change

in the zone stamp pull down of the settings
'show area' box is on
but, again it shows only the net area

how to show adjustments in the stamp on the floor plan?

one of the more shocking features of the zone tool - you need to use the 'Update Zones...' command for changes to take effect. some zone stamps are written to update themselves, but area lists generated in the interactive scheduler still need the 'update zones' command to be invoked before the schedule will update.

I use the fill tool for area take-offs. Much less frustating than zones.

Beware that the "Update Zones" command only works for the current story!
You have to repeat it for the other stories.
