I may miss something but why there's no multisegmented revolved column ( not extruded ) ? When i need multisegmented column, i have to use railing post, why this very basic column function doesn't exist ( i don't want to use morph ).

I would like complex profile ( where is can build multisegment, multiple material ) then simply revolve it with column tool, not railing post. It's possible on railing post, why not on column ?

As far as I know you can do that but custom profile needs to be used as beam

But you wont be able to complete 360 deg. What's i'm asking is complete revolution 360 deg. then i will be able to do the following light. For now, i use railing post which support multisegment complex profile.

Instead of Morphs you can use Shells but they have a limitation with small radii.

You can also use a curved (circular) complex profile wall.

I do lights like these with Revolved Shells. Sometimes I split the hanger from the head and save them as seperate objects, copy them into a single object, add a 5 or 10mm cyclinder and a hanger length parameter, and now I have a height adjustable light.

so, nothing work as well as railing post, i really wonder why multisegmented custom profile doesnt exist in column as it exist in railing post, i really wonder why

so, nothing as efficient, fast and parametric as railing post then. It's also easy to adjust the height of any part by just adjusting custom profile.

There might be a wish around somewhere for it, though I do not recall seeing one, so if that is the case, make a wish?
