I’m sorry if my answer wasn’t complete, here’re the steps:

1) Duplicate the GB building material to have another GB layer with higher priority than the insulation building material.

2) Create 2 composite walls,

*One composite with (the default GB material with lower priority) applied for the (two finish layers outside & inside).

*The other with (the newly duplicated GB material with higher priority) applied for the outside finish layer & (the default GB material with lower priority) applied for the inside finish layer.

3) Use the first composite for inner walls while the last one for the outer walls.

I hope it’s clearer now & hope it helps.

Anyone know why these composite walls are not cleaning up at the corners? The gypsum board should round the corner at the bottom but it doesn't.

Composite walls on the same layer with identical junction order and height. Walls are properly intersected and reference lines touching, but nothing I can do cleans up the wall corner as it is supposed to.

Hi @Rene Pahlavan,

It’s a building material priority issue,

to solve this duplicate the outer BM with a higher intersection priority number than the insulation BM that will stop insulation & clean intersection.

I already tried that Mahmoud. I adjusted the intersection priority of the gypsum finish to be higher than the wood frame+insulation/wood frame. Result is that it cuts through wood frame at intersections as in this screenshot:

Yes Lingwisyer. Here are the settings for both composites:

Hello Rene,

You have two situations here.

First screenshot, you need material priority as such:

1. Gypsum

2. Insulation or

3. The brown material.

Second screenshot you need:
1. Brown

2. Insulation

3. Gypsum

Two solutions. Either it makes sense to duplicate the materials because the wall comps handle very different situations (like interior vs exterior walls etc). Or, you can adjust BM as suggested by @Mahmoud Qenawi and then force intersection priority of your wall in your second screenshot like this (leftmost wall):

Beware that this will also affect any other junctions of the higher priority wall, so examine the result closely if you choose this solution!

Hope this works for you.

AK

Edit: it's not called intersection priority, but junction order, sorry. I work in the FRA version.

Will increasing the Intersection Priority of your basic stud to match that of your insulated stud break anything? You can adjusted the Junction Order if you need one to cut the other.

I try to stay away from creating duplicate BMs - but it seems to be the most convenient solution. Intersection priority and junction order adjustment to get the right connection is just too finicky. Thanks everyone for chiming in on this problem.
