topic making trusses.. easy question! in Modeling

OK.. I'm really getting into version 10, however:

1. While building truss profiles in plan using the slab tool, I want to flip them on end (vertically, not spin them around on the ground) I can't find a tool useful to that? Any hints?

I've tried changing from perspective to parallel view, but no tools there! I think I used ArchiForma in the past, but I'm sure there is a way without an add-on, right?

+pablo

Pablo,
The only way I know of to flip a tool element is to save it as
a library part and add rotation commands to the 3D script.
For what you are trying to do you could use TrussMaker.
True, it is an add-on but it comes with the program.
You want to view them from above in 3D window (parallel projection), then save as an object.

Check image below, showing view to select in 3D projection settings, and camera position. Bottom of image shows truss as it was drawn on plan.

(or use trussmaker as Peter suggests, he beat me to it)

Hello Stuart,
Thank you for reminding me of the 3D view method
for flipping tool elements by saving as a library part
from the 3D window.
