We've always used blank " " IDs for non-scheduled openings. Refer to my earlier related post:

<T>This item was addressed in ac7 by allowing items assigned to a specific ID to not show in schedules. It worked great for hiding empty door or window openings on the schedules. Is there any way to do this in version 8.1 ?</T>

Same thing. Just assign a special ID (I use "xxx", but use whatever) ... and in the interactive scheduler, add a criterion that says all ID's not equal to that value.
The problem is that You cannot exclude multiple ID's
but You can add multiple ID's...
So when I had some complicated situation lately - I had to add ID's one by one...

Hi Piotr,

I agree that that is a problem - GS doesn't let us specify the criteria with much generality. (We can say the ID is x or is y or is z ad infinitum, but cannot say the ID is NOT x and NOT y etc.) Something for the wish list!

BUT, GS allows us to test for prefixes and suffixes which I think takes care of things adequately, unless you cannot make your ID assignment work with it.

For example, I made a sample file with some doors, with the IDs D01, XX and YY - with D01 (D02, etc.) being the "real" doors that I want in the schedule and XX, YY and for that matter, any door or opening that doesn't start with D being something to be excluded. The criteria is very simple and shown in the screen shot below - note the use of the prefix operator saying to include only those ID's that start with "D".

Hope that helps,
