I agree with Barry, you can copy from 26-27 not the other way around. So far it works for me.

Copy-Paste across Versions

I still work cross platforms until I am perfectly fluid and speedy.

One thing I have found that kills me is to copy and paste from one project to another.

This problem does not occur in the other applications I use.

I have a lot of data that is created from job to job. Files as old as the mid 1980's.

Up to this point I

Open a file (30 sec) copy an item and paste. Keep the file open and do this over and over rapidly. And might do this over and over for an hour or two,

These are with 3d documents and a similar set up as Archicad.

Archicad Option 01

I open a file in version 27 takes 2 min to open.

I open a version 26 file and copy 3sec and then try to paste in the 27 version and Cannot.

Then I realize I need to open 3 - 10 projects to gather information and open and save them all in 27 before I can truly work with them. this is very expensive and I hope I am missing something.

Note I am copy and pasting 2d and 3d items. anything that might be used in another project.

Operating system used: Windows 11

You should find you can copy & paste from 26 to 27 (old to new) with no problems.

I do this all of the time.

There may be some exceptions, but that should only be for old object types (i.e. stairmaker) that no longer exist.

But lines, walls, slabs, text, etc., should be no problem at all.

Note: attributes may change if they are not the same between files.

But you will not be able to copy back from new to old (27 to 26).

For that you have to 'save as' the file back to the older version.
