Cladding in window reveal

I have vertical aluminium batten cladding terminating against the window frame but the window opening cuts the cladding and exposes the wall behind.

This is modelled with a complex profile column.

Is there a way to model this so thatt he battens are visible inside the reveal?

I would put the cladding on a seperate layer and set the Intersection Group to something unique.

Make sure that the building material of the cladding is higher then the building materials of the wall.
