snap slab to plastered wall

Trying to connect my slab to a stone plastered wall in plan... Apparently the corner is not recognized, no hotspot around that area.

It can easily snap to the polylines of some imported DWG, but not to the actual corner of that wall.

Cant seem to figure out why!

When you select the the door, what nodes do you see?

Is that a reveal making that recess around the door or did you model it some other way?

If it is a poly wall, it may not have all of the nodes.

You can only snap to nodes, otherwise you could try generating snap guides to create intersection points.

Hi Barry,

The reveal on the wall was defined on the window settings. I see the node isnt on the corner but somewhere else. I guess i would have to use guides?

Unfortunatelly i found another issue trying the guides: the guide does not get the reveal diretion as a snap either, only the left wall limit guide.

The reveals may not be real edges (like the edge of a wall), so snapping guide lines to them will not be possible.

With the blue snap guides you can add snap guide nodes (little blue circle) and snap guide lines and then establish parallel snap guide lines.

With a bit of playing around ...

Or you could rotate your screen so the edges are horizontal/vertical, and you may find it easier to work on the plan.

Much easier to work when it is square.

problem is i cant even place your most left snap guide node because he just does not recognize where to stop. I can do the guide lines, but no nodes.

And then, if my perpendicular lines to the blue guide line are not 90º, i cant seem to create nodes artificially. Boy, this shouldnt be a struggle.

i found a workaround: i snap my slab to the door reveal behind the plaster and then move those 2 points 2cm further doen, aligned with the walls direction. Or i could move the whole slabe line between those 2 points in a paralel way 2cm down, but i cant seem to do that, so i used the 2 points individually.

I just wonder if things should be that hard causa im a begginner and dont know the pros and cons of AC.
