      <description>It works in both Plan and 3D views. You can see the action better in 3D, but sometimes it is easier in plan.</description>

      <description>ok... was able to join roofs but now the main roof surface and one of the intersecting roof surfaces are not showing.  Do I have to reconstruct those roof planes again?</description>

Easiest in the 3D window.&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
Be sure that the roof tool is active. Select one plane, CTRL click on the EDGE of the other roof plane that, if translated along the top surface of the roof, would intersect the selected one.&lt;BR /&gt;
