I have lost ability to select lines by "lasso"

I can no longer select lines by clicking and dragging a lasso across them. I have to either lasso around the entire line, or click directly on the line, or an end point. This only happened today and I can't figure out why, nor can I find any settings anywhere that allows me to fix this.

What have I done to mess this up??

Steve,
If you mean by "lasso" the selection rectangle or (now in the
selection polygon, you should check the arrow tool settings to make
sure that select if part of an element is included in the polygon as
apposed to the entire element. Also capslock might be on.

Thanks Peter, that did the trick. For some reason, however, I have tried with either setting all afternoon and it never worked. Now, it has. Real strange.......
