I have placed an empty opening in a wall, but i need to show that it is an opening not the end of two walls. no matter what i do with enabling object line types, cut lines, uncut lines, floor plan display etc, i can't get dotted lines to show the wall continues over the opening. i know it's just a setting , but i can't figure out the combination for the life of me.
WB

yes, sorry.
in "empty door settings" tab select the wall contour line option for either side or both, whatever you want, then choose the line type and colour. on the Floor plan and sections" tab, under "symbol outline" make sure to check "enable object's line types" and that you have selected "symbolic" floor plan display.

This helped me thanks ! ten years later and still quite ridiculous what you need to do to get one of the basic visual functions working.
